Waste Water Treatment Plant Trek

One of the least known and most important buildings along the lake shore in Plattsburgh is the waste water treatment plant. Friends of Saranac River Trail (with a grant from Lake Champlain Basin Program) toured the plant on June 20, 2015. Here, City of Plattsburgh Environmental Manager Jonathon P. Ruff shows participants a model of the plant as well as the procedure for testing the water in a clarifier. The Trek included an exploration of the plant's physical, chemical, and biological processes for returning water to Lake Champlain.
