Friends of Saranac River Trail Meeting

Friends of Saranac River Trail, Inc. holds its first meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in the Community Room at City Hall. On the agenda are updates on Phase II of the Trail which was recently funded with $1.6 million from New York State, as well as the Max Moore Memorial Treehouse project. There will also be an open discussion of plans for National Trails Day on Saturday, June 7, 2014. The meeting is open to the public.

The feasibility study for Saranac River Trail [March 2006] proposed a “public-private-non-profit organization to advocate for the project and keep the Saranac River Trail Advisory Committee and other agencies involved in advancing the project” informed. It’s taken a while, but Friends of Saranac River Trail, Inc. was chartered as that non-profit corporation by New York State in February 2014. It will carry on the work of the informal Saranac River Trail Advisory Committee.
