Downtown Walk: Saturday, June 2, 2018 10-11:30 AM (FREE)

Meet in front of City Hall on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 AM for our Downtown Walk in honor of National Trails Day.

The walk will end back there by 11:30 AM

We'll explore what's happening on Bridge Street. There's more than you may think in Plattsburgh's downtown! We'll stop in at some of these businesses and chat with the owners about downtown life.

The Downtown Walk is sponsored by Friends of Saranac River Trail. Find out more at saranacrivertrail.org or info@saranacrivertrail.org. The Downtown Walk is free. (This walk was first held on May 5, 2018. New walks are listed in below. Downtown Walk 2 will be held in late summer/early fall. Watch our website and Facebook page for details.)

The Downtown Walk is part of the global festival of Jane’s Walks. They celebrate the ideals of Jane Jacobs, a pioneering author and activist whose writing, including the influential Death and Life of Great American Cities, helped lead a renaissance in urban America, and an appreciation of lively, walkable, livable city environments. They are open to the public, allowing local groups of interested, ordinary citizens to get to know and share information about their neighborhoods.

For more information about the Plattsburgh Jane’s Walk, contact Friends of Saranac River Trail at info@saranacrivertrail.org, saranacrivertrail.org on the web, or facebook.com/saranacrivertrail. To find out more about Jane’s Walks nationally and internationally, go to www.janejacobswalk.org.
